Dr Chris Howard is a clinical psychologist and small business owner in Perth’s northern suburbs. Chris is the founding president of Northern Beaches Cycling Club and passionate advocate for improved cycle networks and dedicated facilities for rider education, recreation and sport.
Chris’s philosophy is that cycling is a vital medium for healthy, active and engaged communities that ultimately reduces the Government health and mental health bill.
Chris’s vision is for cycling to once again become a legitimate and safe form of transport in Australia. Nothing short of a cultural change is required to encourage more Australian children and adults to feel safe and ride on our roads.
Chris has previously served on the Board of CycleSport WA and currently is advocating for cyclists on the North Coast Ward Community Reference and Sporting Users Group for the City of Wanneroo. Locally, Chris is the author of the Alkimos Bike Town Proposal and has engaged local and state governments in the delivery of an integrated cycle network, rider education facility, bike park and 5km cycle circuit.
Chris is the proud owner of too many bikes.
